Workshop details

Get hands-on and create clay planters for your home! Kaila will teach you clay handbuilding techniques that will open up the wonderful world of ceramics to you. Over 3 hours, you’ll be pinching, slab forming and coiling clay to make 2 ceramic planters of your own. Once your creations are finished, you’ll be decorating and glazing, as well as learning what plant is right for your new pot. Student pieces are then bisqued, clear glazed and fired and returned in 6 weeks.

What you’ll get:

  • 2 ceramic planters made by you, and fired by Kaila after class

  • A relaxing few hours of making!

What you’ll learn:

  • Clay handbuilding skills such as slab forming, pinching and coiling

  • Which plants to choose for your pots

About your teacher, Kaila

Kaila Perusco is a born maker. Having worked on craft projects & workshops for the likes of Frankie, City of Sydney and Splendour in the Grass, Kaila turned her attention to clay and never looked back.

Since getting her diploma of ceramics, Kaila has been teaching clay handbuilding classes for over 7 years. She is passionate about finding the creative that lurks in everyone.
