How much is a Virtual Office Address in Australia?

Short answer, it costs about $19-$345 per month for a Virtual Office Address in Australia.

Long answer? As you can see there is a huge range of prices. The really budget options (like myself here at Bustle Studios) offer a very basic option with no bells and whistles for $19 per month in Brisbane and $25 per month in Sydney. Great for start-ups. 

If you are going to register your business with the virtual address, here’s what you need to check for, as a minimum requirement:

  • Can a virtual address be registered with ASIC? 

You need a physical address (not a digital-only mailbox). Yes, ASIC loves virtual addresses, you just can’t use a PO Box to register your business with them. 

  • Is mail scanning included in your virtual address?

Some Virtual Address services charge extra for opening and scanning your mail (we don’t) so check that it is included or how much extra it is per piece.

  • How do you get your physical mail, if required?

Most virtual address services have the option to pickup your mail and/or pay extra to get it forwarded to you.

For example, at my Sydney studio you can come and pick it up from our dedicated mail area, 24/7. In Brisbane we don’t have that option but we do physical mail forwarded instead, here are the prices for that:

  • Letters — postage fee + $5

  • Parcels — postage fee + $10 (size limits apply)

  • Are other services available with a virtual address?

Fancy pants extra services that some virtual address services offer, that are nice to have, if you have the moo-lah:

  • Reception Services. Especially handy if you get parcels delivered. (I have my mobile number on the front door in our Sydney office so I can let couriers in, but to keep costs low we don’t have a reception area).

  • Meeting Rooms included, or, at a special price. (Bustle Studios in Sydney offers meeting room hire from $40 per hour. This isn’t available at our Brisbane virtual address.)

  • Phone answering services.

  • Dedicated address. So a unique address, usually with a suite number. 

So, as you can see, there are plenty of options! If Bustle Studios doesn’t suit you we do recommend LawPath because they have a very reasonably priced service and also offer physical mail forwarding.
